What is Hypnosis?

Therapeutic hypnosis is a heightened state of awareness, facilitated by the hypnotherapist. The body and conscious mind go into a very relaxed state while the subconscious mind remains awake and receptive to positive suggestions. A hypnotic trance is a way to access your own mind power that already exists. During hypnosis there is a specific brain wave pattern of deep relaxation, but not sleep. Hypnosis is a tool that is used to access your subconscious mind -- the  power to transform your life.

Is it Safe?
Yes, hypnosis is safe, easy, effective, and relaxing. It is a normal state of mind which most people have experienced. When you are involved in an activity that focuses your attention, like a movie or music,  you often experience a very relaxed or focused state. Many people have experienced a 'trance-like' state while driving. Hypnosis is not sleep but an state of relaxation.  Although you are very relaxed, you are still conscious and are still in total control of what goes on in your mind. Hypnotherapy always honors your free will and your choices, your truth.

What happens in a Hypnotherapy Session?

Your hypnosis session can last between 30-60 minutes.
Each session is unique for each person.  You will recline on a comfortable table while listening to relaxing music during your session. Your conscious mind will be directed to remember everything that happens.

How Does Hypnotherapy Help People?
Hypnotherapy helps you reprogram your emotional patterns, attitudes and reactions. You will feel better when you can see the source of the problem. It is not necessary for you to re-experience the pain or trauma during release. Hypnotherapy takes you back to the source of the problem where beliefs are formed. From that point lasting change can occur as negative patterns can be released and replaced with positive ones. Let Doc Howard guide your journey to wholeness through mind and spirit.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?
During your first session you will receive a professional evaluation of your progress toward your goals and the time necessary to achieve them. Many problems can be resolved in one to three sessions.

Can Any Person Be Hypnotized?
Yes, almost everyone can be hypnotized, even children.

Is Hypnosis Medically Approved?
Yes. The American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association have approved hypnotherapy as a therapeutic tool for releasing emotional trauma, pain, stress, and overcoming negative habits.

Are The Results Permanent?
The effects of hypnosis are cumulative: The more the techniques are practiced and post-hypnotic suggestions are brought into play, the more permanent the results become. Self hypnosis training and reinforcement tapes for home use also provide additional help.

About Past Life Regression
I know that we live many lives that occur simultaneously, and unless you have had an experience that this is a reality for you, this may not be part of your belief system.  If I told you how a lemon tasted, described it in detail, you would still not REALLY KNOW what I was talking about unless you tasted that lemon yourself.  This is how the subject of reincarnation is, and past life regression is the closest way to experience this and make it a reality for an individual.  I have more than 40 years of experience in the field of Hypnosis and Past Life Regression, including three near death experiences, and almost total recall of my own past lives.

Hypnosis or Hyper Sensing (as I sometimes call it) is NOT actually "putting someone to sleep".  The person actually experiences a heightened awareness and I look at this as "waking someone up."  The process accesses hidden information that is stored in the subconscious, where EVERYTHING is retained.

The purpose of regression is normally for the resolution of past life issues.  Many of the individuals that I have performed a regression with have serious issues to resolve.  These issues include unexplained fears and phobias such as heights, fire, drowning, animal attacks, being buried alive, flying, and list goes on and on.  These fears, which are stored in their cellular memory, have crippled their life and freedom of choice.  When I regress someone, I take them back to the originating cause of the particular fear we are confronting.  As a Mentalist, I create a mind link with the individual where I "see" and experience the journey with them.  There is absolutely no reason the review has got to be painful or emotionally upsetting.  I place the suggestion that the subject views the scene as a third party, as if they were watching it on TV.  I believe that the crying and screaming is NOT necessary or helpful to the person.  As soon as this lifetime has been reviewed, I take the person up into the light where they understand what the lesson was and what they needed to learn from it.  This process also includes the lessons that they are still working on that have contributed to the fear.  I then help them release the lesson so that resolution can be achieved.

While in the light, people usually experience a very warm unconditional love and a strong desire to remain there.  I try not to stay here very long so that people do not get attached and want to remain.  This is what happens in near death experiences, the love is so fantastic that people long to go back to it.  It really is a good thing that there is a vail between here and there.

We have chosen the lives we are living and the lessons we are experiencing.  We have also made agreements before we came here to do certain jobs, learn and teach certain things, and move the world in a certain pattern.

Our past lives, and the access of those lives through regression is a reality for me and thousands of people who have had the same experience.  I will tell you about some of those experiences, but alas, it is not the same as KNOWING.

Ancient Egypt - Mid 1970's
Ann had been coming to see me regularly for regression work.  She had great recall of her past lives, and there were many to explore.  We had been documenting them in order to see how the cycle of karma affects the lives we choose.  I will describe a couple of the lifetimes that Ann reviewed in early Egypt.

I had asked Ann the standard questions that I use to begin a session in order to establish who she is, what she is doing, and where the events are taking place.  She appeared to be a young girl who was out on a small barge in the Nile hunting for fowl.  I asked her what she was hunting with, and she replied "A crooked stick."  I then asked her what a crooked stick was and she just told me in a condescending tone, "What do you mean, it's a crooked stick, it is bent in the middle and has silver on both ends!"  I asked her if it was a boomerang.  "What is a boomerang, she replied?"  I told her it is a crooked stick.  She looked at me as if was some kind of idiot and said, "Well?" Ann later told me that she actually knew what I was talking about but couldn't tell the person she was then.  Ann was a very deep subject, which made our sessions very detailed.

The young girl said she was the daughter of Horus, one of the Egyptian Pharaohs, with an attitude to go along with it.  She talked to me as if I were a lower class person, because in that life she was royalty, daughter of a "God".

In another of Ann's lifetimes she was a man who was an architect building the pyramids.  Her specific job, at the time she was describing, was to build a certain room for the Pharaoh.  A variety of items were to be put into this room, including a barge.  She was complaining about all the hard work she had to do and said, "The Pharaoh is stupid, and if he thought the project was easy, he could do it himself, but he couldn't because he's so stupid!"  The conversation at this point was about how everyone around her was incompetent and that she hated this job. (Things haven't changed much in thousands of years!)

I then asked Ann what was going in the room.  She replied, "You know I can't tell you that, I will be tortured and killed for giving those secrets away!"  I knew I wouldn't be able to get the information this way, so I tried a different approach after a little while.

So I said, "Hey, what do we have to put in this room?"  "What do you mean," she replied?"  "You know," I said, "They sent me down to build this damn thing, I need to know what goes in the room."

She then told me all the things that the Pharaoh wanted in the room.  She went on the say that she had the slaves take the barge apart and carry it piece by piece into the room.  "The Pharaoh thinks I create miracles, I'll just let him think that because he is stupid," she told me when I asked her about putting the barge in the room.

She continued to tell me many things about the pyramids including how they moved the big blocks that were used for the doorways and passageways. These giant stones were moved by releasing sand from one area so that the block fell in or out of the door or passageway.  The whole system was pretty ingenious.  They also installed many traps for those individuals that did not belong there.  These traps were designed so blocks would drop down and kill them, or knives or sticks would impale the trespasser.  Another thing she explained to me was how they levitated the blocks in place.  The masses would gather together and the Priests would talk to everyone who would then focus their attention on the stones.  The giant blocks were then levitated and moved to the desired location.  When I asked her if the people knew that they could do this without the Priests, she said, "Then what good would priests be?"  The people did not know that they could do this without the Priests, and that knowledge was kept from them.  The more she talked about levitation, the more I asked her for a demonstration.

At this time she was lying on my striped couch in my living room.  I was startled to see her vibrations raising, and she was actually disappearing right before my eyes!  This is exactly what happened.  I quickly brought her out of the regression and back to the present.  I visualized the police coming to my door wondering what happened to her, seeing her car outside my house, and me telling them that she disappeared on my couch! They definitely would have taken me away.

The Hanging Judge - Early 1970's - Upstate New York

I met a young man named John who was deathly afraid of fire, and he asked me for help to overcome this fear.  John described how he felt something bad was going to happen to him.  He was an extremely nervous individual who bit his nails until they were almost gone.  He told me he had been adopted by a couple when he was young who were very kind to him, but that his real parents had been really abusive.  I determined early on that he was an excellent subject for regression, and he went to a deep level as soon as I started the process.  I directed him to go back to the time when his fear of fire began.

John started ranting and raving right away and not making very much sense.  I asked him what his name was and he grumbled out "Thar."  I asked him what his last name was.

"That is my last name they just call me Thar, Judge Thar!" He was an angry, disagreeable sort with a real attitude.  "What is your job, Thar?"  To which he replied. "I hang them and burn them!"  I asked what he meant by that and he said, "I hang and burn the witches."  "How do you know they are witches, I asked?  "People tell me they are, that they do evil things," he replied.  He went on to tell me a lot more.

Thar told me that he didn't need to have much proof in order to convict a person of witchcraft, someone just had to make a claim and he would take it from there.  He described to me the methods that were used to "kill the witches," and it appeared he held considerable power and authority over many peoples' lives.

I took him up to the higher-self levels of his consciousness and helped him to take a look at that lifetime, so that he could release it.  When we talked about the session later, he told me that he had recognized the couple who adopted him as the last two individuals he had sentenced to die in the life he had just reviewed.

I found it interesting that this couple was involved with herbs and natural healing.  The women was also a psychic, an astrologer, and held meditation meetings at her house.  The wheel of Karma is a most amazing one! John let go of his fear of fire and quit chewing his nails. I find that when I take people to their higher self levels they can and do release their fears and phobias
